The effects of fair competition and consumer protection Act No. 5 of 2018 against anti-competitive practices in Zanzibar

Abstract
This study examined the existing Fair Competition and Consumer
Protection Act No.5 of 2018 particularly in Anti-Competitive business
practices. The study sampled a total of 30 respondents using sampling
techniques. Data were collected using Interviews as tools for collecting data.
The data analysis was done in descriptive way because it is easy for
understanding. The researched was analysed in relying with the objectives. The
findings were such as consumers, Business man, some staffs from Ministry of
Trade and Industrial development and even Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce
are not conversant with Fair Competition and Consumer Protection Act No.5 of
2018 particularly anti-competitive business practices which cut out the
objectives in which the problem exists.
