Abstract
Juvenile delinquency refers to the
participation of minors in illegal activities, often influenced by a complex
interplay of individual, familial, societal, and environmental factors. The
legal system's response to juvenile offenders has evolved over time, balancing
the need for accountability with the recognition of the unique developmental
stages of youth. Juvenile delinquency remains a significant concern worldwide,
necessitating a nuanced understanding of its causes, implications, and the
legal frameworks designed to address it. This paper explores the multifaceted
nature of juvenile delinquency, examining its psychological, sociological, and
legal dimensions. By analyzing various legal responses, with a particular focus
on the Indian context, the paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of
current practices and propose recommendations for effective intervention and
rehabilitation.
